Act 31, Law 2 is hereby repealed. A subject of the Empire of Austenasia is a person who is over 12 years of age and has lived in Austenasia for more than 3 years. Subjects of Austenasia may also hold the position of a Citizen of the United Kingdom at the same time, but must always put being a Subject of Austenasia before being a Citizen of the United Kingdom. [This law has been changed – see Act 114, Law 6]
Act 44, Law 1 is hereby repealed. The Empire of Austenasia gives the right of self determination to individuals seeking physician-assisted suicide as a recourse to a terminal illness. [This law has been changed – see Act 126, Law 2]
Act 58, Law 5 is hereby repealed. Parts of a title will come in the following order:
HIM/HIH comes first.
Second will come Emperor/Empress/Crown Prince/Crown Princess/Prince Regent/Prince Consort/Princess Consort/Prince/Princess/Prince Companion/Princess Companion/Regent/Lord/Lady/Sir.
Third will come the forename and surname.
Fourth comes a title of nobility, Baron of Town/Count of Province/Duke of Duchy/Archduke of Region.
Fifth comes post-nominals granted by knighthood, in order of precedence as stated in Act 56, Law 1.
Sixth comes post-nominals granted by medals, in order of precedence as stated in Act 6, Law 3.
Seventh comes PM or Representative of Town. However, the latter title may only be used if no other post-nominals have been awarded.
Act 50, Laws 5 and 6 are hereby repealed. A Vote of No Confidence can be held by the Prime Minister and Cabinet in any Parliament meeting that they wish. It will be treated like an Act being passed, but 80% or more must vote for it and the Emperor does not have to give Imperial Consent. People may only be removed from the line of succession if the Emperor, Prime Minister and more than 75% of the Cabinet vote for them to be removed. They can be restored in the same way. [This law has been changed – see Act 104, Law 4]
Act 55, Laws 1, 2 and 3 are hereby repealed. The Empire of Austenasia hereby recognises both Flandrensis and Westarctica as nation-like entities. However, Austenasia does not recognise them as sovereign states because: [This law has been changed – see Act 126, Law 8]
They do not fulfil Article 1 of the Montevideo Convention on the Rights and Duties of States – although they have a defined territory they have no population there.
Article IV of the Antarctic Treaty states that “no new claim… to territorial sovereignty [on Antarctica] shall be asserted”. Austenasia hereby ratifies the Antarctic Treaty, and therefore will not recognise the claims of Flandrensis, Westarctica or any other nation not listed in Act 55, Law 4.
Act 45, Law 5 is hereby repealed. Non-residential buildings do not have to pay tax, although they must be registered for their respective purpose in accordance with Act 23, Law 1.
Act 18, Law 4 is hereby repealed. If a Regent is crowned, the Emperor will lose all powers but keep the title HIM Emperor Forename I/II/III/IV/V etc. The Regent will gain all the powers of the Emperor, and all other titles that the Emperor has will either be lost or, in the case of hereditary titles, pass on to the next of kin. The line of succession will stay the same, and will not change to the relatives of the Regent. [This law has been changed – see Act 107]
Act 27 is hereby repealed.
If the Prime Minister dies then either the Crown Prince/Princess or the Deputy Prime Minister (see Paragraph E of this same law) will become Acting Prime Minister until the next New Year’s Day on which there is a scheduled election. The Emperor will decide which one will become Acting Prime Minister.
If the Prime Minister becomes so ill that he/she cannot attend Parliament, then an Acting Prime Minister shall be appointed (see Paragraph A of this same law) until he/she sufficiently recovers.
The Prime Minister may be removed from office if the whole of the Cabinet and the Emperor vote for his/her removal. If that occurs, then an Acting Prime Minister shall be appointed until the next New Year’s Day on which there is a scheduled election, and the former Prime Minister will return to merely being the Representative of his/her constituency.
The office of Acting Prime Minister has all the same powers as that of Prime Minister.
The office of Deputy Prime Minister is hereby created. The Deputy Prime Minister will be the Representative that got the second-highest amount of votes in the most recent election. If second place is held jointly by two Representatives with the same amount of votes, then the Deputy Prime Minister will be chosen with an unanimous decision by the Emperor and the Prime Minister.
Act 50, Law 2 is hereby repealed. The Emperor cannot run for Prime Minister. If the Prime Minister inherits the throne, then he/she may either remain as Prime Minister and refuse the throne (in which case it will pass to the next in line) or become Emperor, in which case an Acting Prime Minister will be appointed until the next election. [As a change to the Constitution, this law has been passed in accordance with Act 1, Law 12]
Act 50, Law 4 is hereby repealed. If the Prime Minister becomes Regent, then he/she will lose the office of Prime Minister, which will be held by an Acting Prime Minister until the next election.
