# Austenasian Times

The **Austenasian Times** is a major publication within the Empire of Austenasia and is officially hosted on this website, in the [News](https://austenasia.org/news/) section.

It was [founded in 2012](https://austenasia.org/2012/11/11/hello-world-2/) by our then-[Emperor Jonathan](https://austenasia.org/monarchy/jonathan-i/), and focuses both on domestic and international affairs, and won acclaims in the 2017 Micronational Awards for Excellence in Journalism. Most of the content until mid 2024 was written by our Emperor Jonathan, who allows the content of the Times he authored to be re-published on our website only, and no other websites hold the right to this content.

Since mid 2024, Lord Mick Griffin was the Chief Editor until early 2026, when this position was taken over by Lord Sertor Valentinus.

**Who funds the site? What is its mission?** Austenasian Times, ever since its foundation, has been operated by the Empire of Austenasia; initially as private property of Jonathan Austen, it is now owned by the Ministry of Culture of Austenasia while retaining its editorial independence. Funding for the website is provided by the Treasury and the Emperor Alexander VI.

**What are the corrections policies?** If you have any concerns, please use the contact us tool or send us an e-mail at austenasia1@gmail.com. We are receptive to feedback.

**What are your credentials?** We have been publishing since 2012 on the topics of micronations, micronational events and especially on the Empire of Austenasia. If you have any questions about any of these topics, please reach out to us as well.

**What are your sources?** Unless the sources are disclosed in the document, internal developments within Austenasia or the broader micronational community usually. We provide sources to our statements where legally and ethically permissible.

**What is our actionable feedback policy?** Please let us know if you have any feedback to any of our stories. We strive to be accurate in our reporting, and have over time corrected or provided disclaimers to some content flagged to us by readers.

**What is our diverse voices policy?** We are required by law to present diversity in opinion and representation to internal Austenasian political developments. Considering we rarely, if ever, make statements on broader social issues, we have no deep policies on the matter beyond our commitment to be respectful towards all members of society.
