The Empire of Austenasia is a parliamentary monarchy, with the Emperor as head of state and a Prime Minister as head of government. Cabinet ministers are appointed by the Monarch at the recommendation of the Prime Minister.

The Empire of Austenasia is a constitutional monarchy, and is ruled by Emperor Alexander VI as head of state.
The Monarch holds extensive executive, legislative, and judicial powers, as well as several more ceremonial rights and duties. Their consent is required for the passage of Acts of Parliament, and they can legislate independently with Imperial Decrees and Imperial Edicts. They approve candidates for Prime Minister, with whom they implement government policy via the Cabinet, and they hold absolute power over Crown Dependencies independently of the central government. Furthermore, the Monarch serves as Judge of the Imperial Court, appoints most judges and juries in the judiciary, and serves as the ultimate interpreter of the law.

Prime Minister represents the executive powers, presiding over their Cabinet, oversee the work of their Ministers and steers the political ship of Austenasia. The powers evolved over time, taking some powers off the Monarchy as the nation evolved to a more vibrant and democratic one.
A Prime Minister is elected directly by popular vote for a four year term, by all subjects of Austenasia. A Prime Minister must be a Representative in the House of Representatives first, and be over 18 years old; an Austenasian citizen for at least three years and demonstrate good character and lack of criminal convictions.
Cabinet
The Prime Minister assembles their cabinet by nominating ministers to certain roles.
