Home Office
The Home Office has four main responsibilities. The first is maintaining contact between local authorities and the central government, and aiding the integration of new claims into the Empire. The second is registering any new residents that arrive in Austenasia and keeping a regularly updated census of all subjects and residents of Austenasia. The third is supervising the running of the State Intelligence Agency, and the fourth is supervising the running of the Environmental Agency.
Treasury
The Treasury has the responsibility of developing and executing the national finance policy, and prior to 2013 oversaw a system of tax collection. Since June 2023, it has also held an online investment account – the Precious Metals Account – from which profits are drawn from investing in precious metals.
It was also responsible for the minting of a set of commemorative coins in 2018 to mark Austenasia’s tenth anniversary. The Treasury is run by the Treasurer; since Jue 2025, this has been HIM Alexander VI.
Foreign Office
The Foreign Office (formerly known as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) is the government body responsible for maintaining diplomatic relations with other nations and for representing and promoting the interests of the Empire of Austenasia internationally. The Foreign Office was originally known as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs when it was founded by Act 21 of the Austenasian Parliament on 13 November 2008, but was renamed to the Foreign Office on 21 February 2009 by Act 59 (Government Ministries).
Ministry of Defence
The Ministry of Defence is the government body responsible for the defence of the Empire of Austenasia.
The Minstry of Defence has the duty of defending Austenasia, its people and government. Its main functions are the administration of the Austenasian Armed Forces, formulation of the Empire’s defence policy, and procurement of equipment to be used by soldiers. The Ministry of Defence is responsible for any rocket launches or attempts at space exploration by the Empire, and also for defending Orly and Wildflower Meadows – the protected states of the Empire – should the governments of those states request military aid.
Ministry for Culture
The Austenasian Ministry for Culture is the government body responsible for the promotion and preservation of the culture of the Empire of Austenasia.
The Ministry for Culture was founded on 25 April 2015 by an Act of Parliament. After some discussion about who should be appointed the first Minister, the office was given to Vera Hewitt on 9 May the following month.
The Ministry for Culture is responsible for the designation and maintenance of all national monuments, the designation of all heritage sites, as well as the appointing of Artists Laureate.
