# Coins

On 1 September 2018, the Empire released the first coin minted by the [Austenasian Treasury](https://austenasia.org/ministries/).

The limited edition Independence Day 2018 Commemorative Coin has a diameter of 3.8 cm and is made of a zinc alloy with a gold-coloured finish.

The coin has a face value of £3, and is legal tender within Austenasia. This is a very rare coin, with only one hundred having been minted.

The coin features a portrait of [Emperor Jonathan I](https://austenasia.org/monarchy/) on one side, and the inscription "Ten Years Since The Declaration Of Independence" on the other.

The coin was available for sale on our website until November 2019, when stocks ran out.
