Act 50, Law 1 is hereby repealed. After the Emperor/Empress’s death, abdication or removal from the Throne, then the line of succession is thus: a person is always immediately followed in the succession by his or her own legitimate descendants (his or her line) except for any legitimate descendants who already appear higher in the line of succession. Birth order and gender matter: older sons (and their lines) come before younger sons (and theirs); a person’s sons (and their lines), irrespective of age, all come before his or her daughters (and their lines).
After the line of succession has passed through all of the Monarch’s descendants, it will pass to his/her siblings (male and eldest first) and their descendants.
After the line of succession has passed through all of the Monarch’s descendants, his/her siblings and their descendants, then it will pass to the Monarch’s husband/wife, and their siblings and descendants.
Act 72, Law 1 is hereby repealed. The only people with the pre-nominals of His/Her Imperial Highness are the Emperor/Empress’s children, siblings, spouse/significant other, and the Crown Prince/Princess’s spouse/significant other. [This law has been changed – see Act 104, Law 3]
All people in the line of succession who do not have the title of HIH will have the title of Lord/Lady Forename. They are hereby known as Lords/Ladies Imperial. [This law has been changed – see Act 134, Law 6]
The present line of succession to the Throne is thus, liable to change at any time through new births (see Law 1 of this same Act):
HIH Crown Prince Jonathan is first in line to the Throne, being HIM the Emperor’s eldest son.
As the Emperor has no other sons, HIH Princess Caroline is second in line to the Throne, being HIM the Emperor’s eldest daughter.
As there are none of the Emperor’s descendants left who are not in the line of succession it passes to his siblings in accordance with Law 2 of this same Act. Thus, HIH Princess Christine is third in line to the Throne, being HIM the Emperor’s eldest sister.
As HIH Princess Christine’s eldest child, Lady Louise is fourth in line to the throne.
As HIH Princess Christine has no other children, HIH Princess Pauline is fifth in line to the Throne, being HIM the Emperor’s second eldest sister.
As HIH Princess Pauline’s eldest son, Lord Kelvin is sixth in line to the Throne.
Lord Kelvin’s only child, of whose gender and name the Imperial Family has not been informed, is seventh in line to the Throne.
As Lord Kelvin has no other children, Lord Andrew is eighth in line to the Throne, being HIH Princess Pauline’s second eldest son.
As HIH Princess Pauline has no other children, HIH Princess Julie is ninth in line to the Throne, being HIM the Emperor’s third eldest sister.
As HIH Princess Julie’s eldest son, Lord Daniel is tenth in line to the Throne.
As HIH Princess Julie’s second eldest son, Lord Matthew is eleventh in line to the Throne.
As there are none of the Emperor’s descendants, siblings, or their descendants left who are not in the line of succession, it passes to his wife in accordance with Law 3 of this same Act. Thus, HIH Empress Margaret is twelfth in line to the Throne.
As HIH Empress Margaret has no descendants who are not already higher up in the line of succession, it passes to her eldest brother. Thus, Lord Michael is thirteenth in line to the Throne.
As Lord Michael’s eldest son, Lord Timothy, KOM, SCP is fourteenth in line to the Throne.
As Lord Michael has no other sons, Lady Catherine is fifteenth in line to the Throne, being Lord Michael’s eldest daughter.
As Lord Michael’s second eldest daughter, Lady Jennifer, DOM is sixteenth in line to the Throne.
As there are none of the Emperor’s descendants, siblings, their descendants, or his spouse or their descendants left who are not in the line of succession, the list officially comes to a close.
If the Monarch dies, abdicates or is removed from the Throne and there are no people after him/her in the line of succession, then all other blood relatives of him/her willing will come before the Cabinet and Prime Minister assembled, where there will be a vote as to who is the new Emperor or Empress. There shall only be one vote, and if it is a tie then the tied candidates will be voted for by all Subjects in the Empire on the next Independence Day. Until the new Emperor/Empress is voted for, the Prime Minister will become Regent.
The Monarch may change the line of succession so that after it goes through his/her descendants, it goes straight to his/her spouse. For this to happen, 75% or more of the Cabinet, including the Prime Minister, must vote for it. The people taken out will then be added back into the line of succession in the correct order at the back of the list. [This law has been added to – see Act 96, Law 2]
The Monarch may change the line of succession so that after it goes through his/her descendants, it goes straight to his/her significant other. For this to happen, 90% or more of the Cabinet, including the Prime Minister, must vote for it. The people taken out will then be added back into the line of succession in the correct order at the back of the list. [This law has been changed – see Act 96, Law 4]
