Should, in accordance with Paragraph 6 of the Government Accountability Act 2017, a Cabinet Minister lose their position as such due to failing to release a Ministerial Report, or indeed should the resignation of a Minister for an unrelated reason at the time of year a report is due result in the failure of that Ministerial Report to be released, the successor of said Minister may release the Ministerial Report in their stead, even if it should be several days late. It is important that the work of each Ministry is detailed publicly, and that the extent to which previously set goals have been reached is assessed, and Ministries must not be permitted to evade scrutiny and accountability simply by having their Minister resign.
