The purpose of this Act is to create guidelines for the establishment of political parties and establish a registry of political parties under the maintenance of the Secretary-General.

For a political party to be considered legitimate and legal, the party must meet the following conditions:

A name which is not presently used by another existing political party and is not longer than six words.

No fewer than five members, who must be Austenasian subjects (in the event that a political party shall establish a young wing, residents of the Empire under the age of 16 who reside within a City, Town or March may be members of said youth wing).

A headquarters within a City or Town of the Empire.

A constitution which outlines the principles of the political party and establishes a central leadership.

Any political party established within the Empire of Austenasia must contact the Secretary-General within two weeks following the date of establishment of the party to inform the Secretary-General of the establishment of the party and to complete the political party registration form.

The political party registration form shall be composed by the Secretary-General and guarantee that applicant political parties meet the conditions set by Paragraph 2 of this Act.

Political parties that complete the political party registration form shall be added to the Political Party Registry, to be maintained by the Secretary-General, and shall be considered legal political parties within the Empire of Austenasia.

Political parties that fail to register with the Secretary-General within two weeks following the date of establishment of the party or do not meet the conditions set by Paragraph 2 of this Act shall not be considered legal political parties within the Empire of Austenasia.

Individuals who serve as the leader of an organization which functions as or actively claims to be a political party may be prosecuted under a felony charge and members of said organization may be prosecuted under a misdemeanour charge.

It is the duty of all registered political parties to inform the Secretary-General as soon as is reasonably possible of any alterations to any information included in their political party registration form.

Political parties which currently exist in the Empire of Austenasia shall be required to complete the political party registration form within two weeks following the date of enactment of this Act.

This Act supersedes the provisions of Decree XIII Jon. I in regards to the registration and recognition of political parties.
