Under the First Imperial Decree of HIM Emperor Declan I, it is rebellion to fly the flag of the United Kingdom within the Empire, or to refuse to take down the flag of another nation other than Austenasia. Our Imperial Majesty hereby repeals this ordinance.
Instead of rebellion, it shall be the first-class felony of treason to fly the flag of another nation with the intent of claiming the land over which it is flown for another nation, and to refuse to remove said flag when asked by a police officer, soldier, or the holder of any public office.
We recognise that all our people at present hold dual nationality with the country in which they were born or raised before becoming Austenasian, and that it is natural for them to identify as being part of said nation at the same time as being Austenasian.
We decree, therefore, that it is permitted for Austenasians to fly the national flag of any other nation to which they belong on the day on which said nation celebrates its independence or patron saint, or – with written permission from a magistrate – any other day of national significance, such as when said nation participates in an important international sporting event.
We furthermore decree that it is permitted for Austenasians to fly from their property the national flag of any other nation to which they belong, so long as it is flown alongside or below the Austenasian Star.
