The Purpose of this Act is to reaffirm and expand upon some of the rights granted to all humans by Article XII of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011.

In accordance with Article XII, Section O of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011, all humans have the right to respect for the privacy of their personal and family life, home and correspondence, information concerning which cannot be published (on the Internet or otherwise) against the wishes of the person to which it pertains.

In accordance with Article XII, Section W of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011, all humans have the right to freedom of speech, defined as the freedom of an individual to communicate their ideas and thoughts through the medium of vocal language to the extent not restricted by the law.

In accordance with Article XII, Section X of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011, all humans have the right to freedom of expression, defined as the freedom of an individual – and of the press – to communicate, seek, receive and impart information and/or ideas through mediums of writing, printing, art, et cetera, to the extent not restricted by the law.

In regards to Paragraph 2 of XV Dec. I 2012 (Criminal Sentences), the Consuls may not sentence somebody to a cruel and unusual punishment for a crime.

In accordance with Article IV, Paragraph D, Subsection C of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011, the House of Representatives hereby grants its approval and consent to the Imperial Decree of HIM Emperor Jonathan I numbered XIII (decreed on 20 February 2014), thereby making it permanent law. In accordance with XIII Jon. I: Decree on Political Parties, XI Dec. I 2012 (Political Parties) is hereby repealed.
XIX Jon. I (2014) Privy Council and Palasian Defence

The Purpose of this Act is to form the Privy Council as an advisory body to the Monarch, and to completely transfer the joint responsibility of Merryweather Security for the defence of Palasia to the Bysalian Defence Force.

The Imperial Majesty’s Most Honourable Privy Council, to be known as the Privy Council for short, is hereby established as an advisory body to the Monarch.

The Privy Council has the function of providing non-binding advice to the Monarch on the exercise of the powers and duties of the Throne and on any matter which may be brought by the Monarch to its attention.

The Privy Council is comprised of Privy Counsellors appointed to it by the Monarch. Privy Counsellors with a certain area of expertise may be given specific remits by the Monarch upon their appointment, although they are not limited to the subject of their remit when imparting advice. The Prime Minister shall automatically become a Privy Counsellor upon election, and the Heir to the Throne shall automatically become a Privy Counsellor should they be over 16 years of age.

The Monarch shall appoint a Privy Counsellor as Chief Advisor, to designate which of the members of the Privy Council shall lead it in its discussions and in the impartation of its advice.

Appointment to the Privy Council is for life, unless a Privy Counsellor is later removed by the Monarch. The Monarch may not remove an incumbent Prime Minister of Austenasia from the Privy Council unless an Acting Prime Minister has been appointed in their place and/or they have been arrested for a first-class felony.

XIV Jon. I 2013 (Merryweather Security) is hereby repealed. Any and all duties, responsibilities, powers and privileges in regards to the defence of and law enforcement within Palasia that were granted to Merryweather Security by that Act are hereby utterly rescinded and instead granted to the Bysalian Defence Force. This arrangement does not grant or impart recognition of any kind to the entity known as Bysalia, and can along with this same Paragraph be repealed by Imperial Decree or Imperial Edict.
