CXXVIII Jon. I 2020 (New Virginia)

  1. The purpose of this Act is to grant independence to the City of New Richmond, the Town of Terentia and the Town of Augusta as the Commonwealth of New Virginia, to establish the office of Minister for New Virginian Affairs, to abolish the Imperial Navy and to establish the Territory of Fraternitas.

  2. The City of New Richmond and the Towns of Augusta (excluding the uninhabited plain on the western side) and Terentia are hereby granted independence from the Empire of Austenasia as the Commonwealth of New Virginia, a sovereign and independent state.

  3. The Empire of Austenasia hereby declares that maintaining a close and special relationship with the Commonwealth of New Virginia is a top priority of the Austenasian Government, and to that effect the office of Ambassador to New Virginia is established within the Foreign Office.

  4. The Duchy of New Virginia is henceforth renamed as the Duchy of New Royton.

  5. The Province of Greater Richmond is henceforth renamed as the Province of Greater Fraternitas.

  6. The titles of nobility of the Province of New Bernardston, the City of New Richmond and the Town of Augusta are hereby reconstituted as Peerages, with their current holders reaffirmed to hold said titles.

  7. The nationality and subjectship of the residents of New Richmond, Augusta and Terentia – excluding HIH Lord Admiral Joseph Kennedy, Lady Vice Admiral Eryn Lewis and Lord Master Chief Riley Kennedy – is henceforth revoked. 

  8. The uninhabited plain to the west of Town Hall in Augusta is hereby established as the Territory of Fraternitas, with HIH Lord Admiral Joseph Kennedy, Duke of New Royton as Governor and Captain William Kennedy, MAO as Baron.

  9. The office of Minister for New Virginian Affairs is hereby established, and shall be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the secession of New Virginia. The office shall be abolished upon the secession of New Virginia. 

  10. The Imperial Navy is hereby abolished, with all officers and enlisted sailors receiving honourable discharges.

  11. Retired and/or honourably discharged Austenasian Armed Forces personnel retain the right to use their highest attained rank in their official title.

  12. This act shall come into effect at 00:00 on 11 February 2020, with the exception of Articles 9, 10 and 11 which shall come into effect immediately.
