The Speaker of the House has called for a special election to fill a vacancy in the diasporic list, after Parliament unanimously voted in favour of dismissing Sir Chris Ramsay from the seat.

Sir Chris Ramsay, best known for his work as Chief Herald, was elected to the seat in the 2025 General election, as part of the majority All Austenasia Party government which stabilised the nation under the then-newly anointed Emperor Alexander VI following the crisises that plagued the first half of the year.

The motion to dismiss Sir Chris Ramsay was brought to Parliament on the 10th of June after the House had received no communication from the representative for two months since the end of the last parliamentary session. Lord Valentinus and the Deputy Prime Minister, Lord Griffin both spoke in favour of the motion to dismiss the fellow AAP party member from the body.

A date is yet to be called for the by-election, but nominations are open to the House.

Former Deputy Prime Minister, Lord Otto UaBlair is the sole-nominee thus far, and is currently the favourite to take the seat and make a return to Parliament, after parting ways with the body at the end of March following the independence of Etchemin-on-Kennebec.

Nominations are open to non-residential subjects of Austenasia. Interested persons are advised to get into contact with the Speaker of the House, Caleb Sneeden.
