Austenasia is slated to send representatives – both from it’s official delegation and the general public – to the Grand Unified Micronational’s 2026 24 Hour Quorum.

This year’s 24 Hour Quorum is the 7th such event organised by the intermicronational organisation.

Created all the way back in 2012, the event sees a conversation venue opened in the organisation for a continuous uninterrupted period of 24 hours, with the intention of being a charitable fundraising event. The highest amount of money ever raised was £266 for the British Red Cross during the pandemic-era 2020 24 Hour Quorum.

This year’s event seeks to raise money for Caritas Cuba, an institution of the Catholic Church that focuses on programs aimed primarily at the socially disadvantaged at risk of social exclusion. The charities programmes include HIV/AIDS response programmes, emergency response and humanitarian aid, institutional life training and human development groups. The GUM sought to raise money for a Cuban-based charity following the fragile state of the region in the wake of the 2026 Cuban Crisis instigated by an American blockade.

The event is to be chaired by senior GUM officials, that being Chair Otto UaBlair of Misberia – who, if unavailable, will be assisted by Vice Chair Newton Barrett of Würdigeland, Director-General Adam I of Adammia, Supreme Justice Azé Fudé of Esse, and the Membership Secretary Simon White of New Virginia.

To keep the flow of conversations going, expected topics range among Cuba and the history of the Caritas charity, the ongoing FIFA World Cup, mutual recognition treaties, intermicronational sporting, MicroWiki page development, legislation sharing, the state of the micronational community.. amongst many more.

The event is open to the general public, and will begin at 18:00 BST on the 20th of June. Interested persons can join the event at this link. Further details on how to donate to this charity and make a difference enclosed within said link.
