CXLVI Jon. I 2020 (Nobles)

  1. The purpose of this Act is to retrospectively confirm and validate the hereditary nature of Nobility, to establish other ways by which titles of Nobility can be passed from one person to another, and to make other miscellaneous provisions regarding noble titles.

  2. Noting that although no Section in Article XI of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011 states that titles of Nobility are hereditary, but some explicitly state where other titles are not, it is hereby confirmed that titles of Nobility are and have always been hereditary since their creation on 31 January 2009. Titles of Nobility may therefore be inherited by the heir of the incumbent in accordance with Paragraph 12 of XVI Dec. I 2012.

  3. A Landed Noble or Peer may validly designate somebody other than their heir to receive their title upon their death or their relinquishing of said title. This may be done in a will in accordance with XXIV Jon. I 2014, or by a properly ratified private promissory note or grant in accordance with CXLV Jon I. 2020, Paragraph 9.

  4. In accordance with Paragraphs 2 and 3 of this same Act, it is hereby confirmed that the title Count of Colltiree legally passed to the now Lord Michael, Duke of Merton upon the death of HIH Emperor Grandmother Joyce on 2 November 2018, and that the title Baron of Nahona legally passed to Bradyn Williamson on 20 June 2020 upon Lady Nicole Wilson, Baroness of Nahona relinquishing her Landed Noble title and forfeiting it to the same.

  5. Parliament hereby extends to the Monarch the right to grant by Imperial Decree or Imperial Edict any vacant title of Nobility.

  6. In accordance with Paragraph 8, Subsection B of VI Jon. I 2013, “Town” in Sections E, F and N of Article XI of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011 shall be interpreted as if it were “Town/Territory”.

  7. Nobles shall only use one noble title after their name; this shall be the highest in precedence amongst any titles of Nobility or Peerages according to Article XI, Section N of the Austenasian Constitution of 2011.

  8. Should a Peer relinquish their peerage but their heir(s) not wish to inherit it, the peerage will be considered dissolved. It is hereby confirmed that the peerage Marquess of Atkantia was dissolved on 7 January 2018 upon its relinquishing by Sir James von Puchow, and was not inherited by his sister or any other heir.
