Act 30 is hereby repealed. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
All humans are equal before the law.
Everyone has the right to choose and practice his or her religion, faith or belief without persecution.
No person may be discriminated against or unfairly privileged on the basis of gender, origin, race, language, parentage, sexuality, disability or faith. [This law has been changed – see Act 104, Law 5]
No human may be forced to become another person’s slave. The buying and selling of slaves is hereby outlawed.
Capital punishment is hereby outlawed even for murder; causing a death is a terrible crime, and two wrongs do not make a right.
Every human has the right to:
Live in freedom and safety.
Have a fair trial and to be allowed to defend themselves if accused of a crime.
Be considered innocent until proved guilty.
Marry who they want. Forced marriage is hereby outlawed.
Refuse to kill someone. Forcing somebody to go against their conscience is hereby outlawed.
Own property without it being taken away without good reason.
Profess their religion freely, to change it and to practise it either on their own or with others.
Work, be free to choose their work and to earn a salary to support themselves and their family.
Men and women who do the same work must be paid the same amount.
All workers have the right to take holidays and time off when ill.
Education, to learn a profession and to continue their studies for as long as they wish.
