In regards to Act 47, Law 3:
-
The title of the Monarch is HIM Emperor/Empress Regnal name Ordinal.
-
The regnal name of the Monarch can be:
-
Their forename
-
Any of their middle names
-
The regnal name of a previous ruler of the land in the Empire
-
-
It is recognised that Austenasia is a relatively new state, and had been part of many monarchies before the reign of HIM Emperor Terry I. Therefore, if a regnal name is chosen that had also been held by a ruler of the land that is now Austenasia while it was in the United Kingdom, Great Britain, England, Scotland, the Roman Empire, the Britannic or Gallic Empires, any of the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms, etc, then that ruler will be taken into account when the monarchical ordinal of the Monarch is chosen. [This paragraph has been added to – see Act 150, Law 8]
-
If a previous monarch of the land that is now in the Empire had a very similar name to the Monarch, then their name may also be listed in the regnal numbering (e.g. HIM Emperor Esmond III took into account the reigns of King Edmund I of the English (939 – 946) and King Edmund “Ironside” II of the English (1016), whose names were very similar to his own, giving himself the ordinal of III).
-
When the Monarch accepts the Throne, they shall decree their regnal name and ordinal for their reign.
-
-
The Monarch has the power to decree Imperial Edicts. Imperial Edicts are laws that may be overturned by an Act of Parliament, and may not contradict or supersede an Act of Parliament.
-
Imperial Edicts may supersede bye-laws, and bye-laws may not contradict Imperial Edicts. Imperial Edicts can only be decreed by the Monarch, and only affect Crown property.
