Act 110 (Further Laws on Monarchy)

In regards to Act 104, Law 3, the following people may also have the pre-nominals of HIH:

All direct descendants of the Monarch shall have the titles of HIH Prince Forename or HIH Princess Forename (except for the Heir to the Throne – see Act 34, Law 4). [This law has been changed – see Act 120, Law 6]

All direct ascendants of the Monarch shall have the title of HIH Monarch Relation: e.g.

The parents of the Monarch, if a male Emperor, shall have the title of HIH Emperor Father/Mother Forename.

The parents of the Monarch, if a female Empress, shall have the title of HIH Empress Father/Mother Forename.

The grandparents of the Monarch, if a male Emperor, shall have the title of HIH Emperor Grandfather/Grandmother Forename.

The grandparents of the Monarch, if a male Emperor, shall have the title of HIH Empress Grandfather/Grandmother Forename. [This subsection has been changed – see Act 134, Law 4]

In the case that the Monarch dies and the Heir to the Throne refuses to inherit the Throne, the Throne shall be empty until a member of the Line of Succession ascends to the Throne. In that case, when the new Monarch accepts the Throne, they shall legally have been Monarch since the very moment that the previous Monarch died.

In the case that the Monarch abdicates and the Heir to the Throne refuses to inherit the Throne, the Throne shall be empty until a member of the Line of Succession ascends to the Throne. In that case, the abdicated Monarch shall have legally remained as Monarch until the new Monarch accepted the Throne.
