Austenasia and the Reylan Imperial Triumvirate entered mutual recognition on 14 January 2012, signing a treaty of mutual recognition and non-aggression the following day. Emperor Jonathan I and Emperor Taeglan I Nihilus of Reyla met at the Coronation of Jonathan I in February 2013, where they signed the Treaty of Wrythe, formally recognising each other’s full imperial rank.
In September 2019, in response to Reyla’s declining activity on the international stage, Taeglan I gave his permission for the Treaty of Wrythe to be rescinded, and Jonathan I subsequently recognised him as a Caesar rather than an Augustus – a change Jonathan I stressed did not imply any wider distancing from Reyla, and Taeglan I was granted an Austenasian title of nobility that same year.
