Austenasia held diplomatic relations with two earlier incarnations of what is now the Kingdom of Sabia and Verona – New Balland and Dakrit – between April and June 2012, revoking recognition when Dakrit dissolved. This community became an overseas territory of Juclandia in October 2012, during which the neighbouring Austenasian Crown Dependency of Esmondia was founded. Upon gaining independence on 28 February 2016, the nation retained its recognition of Austenasia, which the Empire formally reciprocated on 4 June 2016. A formal treaty of mutual recognition and co-operation was signed on 8 December 2019.
