Jan Šťastný has been elected to the Austenasian House of Representatives following a diasporic list by-election triggered by the resignation of Andrew Perdomo in December.
A newcomer to Austenasia, Šťastný has already made a name for themselves within the Czech Sphere of micronationalism, having served in executive roles in the Union of Micronations of Central Europe – and likewise within the international community both as a longtime participant within the Micronational Olympic Federation, and a controversial stint as Vice-Chair of the Grand Unified Micronational.
Announced by Emperor Alexander on the 23rd of February, the by-election served to fill in the diasporic list vacancy left by the resignation of Perdomo amidst their withdrawal from the micronational community.
Šťastný went head-to-head with established figure Lord Charles Ross, the Governing Commissioner of Bregusland. The House officially nominated Šťastný, who accepted the role and was officially confirmed on the 2nd of March.
