The two exhibition events in the Austenasia-hosted 2025 Micronational Olympic Federation Intermediate Games have concluded, with a plethora of accolades awarded to a number of nations.
Austenasia was awarded the hosting rights to the MOF Intergames in October 2025, following a push by then-Home Secretary Lord Valentinus to launch an initiative to form a provisional Olympic Committee, and eventually host an MOF event. The event has proven to be a huge success, unexpectedly becoming the second largest online MOF event of all time, boasting 30 participating nations, and 46 individual cyletes.
Alongside the main stars of the event – knockout competitions of Chess, Draughts, Noughts and Crosses, Rock Paper Scissors, and Mancala; non-ranked exhibition events were introduced by event chairman Lord Valentinus. The first of which, National Pride, was reintroduced to Austenasia 2025 following a five year hiatus in MOF events, having last featured in the 2020 Gymnasium State eGames. Overseen by Jan Šťastný, participants voted to determine the winners of multiple categories, such as best name, best motto et cetera. The second, Spreadsheet Football, was hosted by Würtigeland’s Newton von Uberquie. Newton has popularised elaborate sports simulations – known as Spreadsheet Sports – within the Würtige Empire, and eventually beyond, with the Union of New Virginia adopting a Spreadsheet Basketball league.
Austenasia did not make it very far in the Spreadsheet Football competition, and was knocked out in the group stages. Würtigeland fared better, advancing to the finals defeating the Great Kingdom of Slitronia 2–0 to win gold. The final results are as follows:
- 1st: Würtigeland
- 2nd: Slitronia
- 3rd: Misberia
National Pride is a different story. Austenasia managed to win awards in a number of categories, including 1st in best Coat of Arms and best MicroWiki article, and 2nd in best National Name. The President of the Micronational Olympic Federation awarded a special prize following the event to the Most Serene Republic of Medoles. The first-place winners of each category are as follows:
- National Name: Ladonia
- National Flag: Misberia
- National Coat of Arms: Austenasia
- MicroWiki Article: Austenasia
- National Motto: Firburg
- Memorabilia: Knuffeldierland (with the Micronational Dictionary)
- MOF President’s Award: Medoles
This coming week, we expect to see the finals of the Mancala event, the Rock Paper Scissors semifinals, the Noughts and Crosses quarterfinals, the Draughts quarterfinals, and the Chess quarterfinals. Austenasian cyletes Lord Valentinus and Laird O’Halloran are still in the running in a number of events, and we could see Austenasia win it’s first ever MOF medal.
Further information on event results can be found on the associated MicroWiki page.
Keep your eyes peeled on the Austenasian Times, as we publish updates on Austenasia ’25.
