It was announced by Emperor Aggelos I yesterday evening that His Excellency Bey Akka, Governing Commissioner of Enfriqua, has passed away.
In full, the announcement read:
“The Crown has sadly been informed by his brother of the death of His Excellency Bey Akka, Governing Commissioner of Enfriqua.
Akka passed away about a month ago, aged 27, after a sudden accident. His family, the residents of Enfriqua, have been devastated by his loss and so no contact was made until now.
The Crown Dependency of Enfriqua was claimed for the Empire by Akka on 15 January 2015. He served as its Governing Commissioner for over a decade until his sad passing. Although he did not actively engage in our online spaces, the tragic loss will be mourned for a week of somebody so young who contributed in his own way for so long to Austenasia.”
A week of official state mourning began yesterday and will therefore conclude with the end of the month.
Bey Akka is only the third Austenasian to pass away in our nation’s history. He also served as the Empire’s ceremonial non-accredited Ambassador to Algeria.
Bey’s brother has stated that he will make further contact with the government in the future to make arrangements for the structure of Enfriqua moving forward, and as such, no successor as Governing Commissioner has yet been appointed.
