Saturday 14th June saw territorial changes for the Empire of Austenasia, with the claiming of two new land claims and the departure of two others, with a net gain of one subject.

New South Scotland (NSS), Austenasia’s Crown Dependency in New South Wales, Australia, had openly reconsidered its relationship with the Empire during the crisis surrounding the recent coup attempt, but cancelled moves towards independence following the ousting of Andrew Musgrave.
However, in the chaos created by his recent false claims regarding a conspiracy in Musgrave’s support, NSS’s Governing Commissioner Sir Hugh McFarlane announced the secession of his crown dependency from Austenasia as a Republic.
With calm having returned following a rebuttal of the core of Musgrave’s claims, Sir Hugh has clarified that there is no enmity between himself and the imperial government, but that he still believes it is time for New South Scotland to forge its own path.
NSS has undergone a notable process of political, cultural, and territorial growth under Sir Hugh’s leadership, particularly since 2020.
Both the Austenasian Cabinet and Sir Hugh have indicated their desire to establish amicable relations and move forward together in a spirit of friendship.
Meanwhile, a new Austenasian Town has been formed, with a property having been annexed from the U.S. state of Maine to form the Town of Etchemin-on-Kennebec. The Town has two residents, namely Deputy PM Lord Otto Green and his fiancée.
The annexation of Etchemin-on-Kennebec comes at the expense of the dissolution of Cenomannica, an uninhabited Territory claimed and previously administered by Lord Green in 2021, but which he no longer lives nearby to.
However, another Territory has been claimed from the UK, with a river islet along the banks of the River Mersey annexed as the Territory of Bōsford by Sertor Valentinus, its new governor.
Bōsford has a prior history as an independent enclave, having been administered by New Virginia from 2022 until their claim was dropped earlier this year.
